About Me
![]() Hi! My name is Angela Ertola. I was born in Redwood City, CA, and raised in Roseville, CA. I come from a very close family: my parents, sisters, grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins have always been an incredibly special part of my life, and I love them more than words can say. When I was young, my favorite things to do included playing soccer, drawing, going on family vacations (especially camping in Yosemite!), and singing with my mom. I have wanted to be a teacher for as long as I can remember. I went to Oakmont High School, where I played JV soccer, Varisty golf, and sang in choir. After graduation, I moved to beautiful Chico, CA, where I spent 4 incredible years. I learned so much in college about life and myself; I took classes that inspired me, and met my lifelong friends. In my junior year, I was fortunate enough to spend a month visiting a friend who was studying abroad in Florence, Italy. It was an amazing trip; we traveled to Rome, Venice, and throughout Tuscany. Both my mother and father's families are from Italy, so taking this trip was experiencing my cultural heritage. I love learning anything about Italy, and even took an Italian language class. Travel is one of my passions in life, and I want to encourage my students to travel, as well! After I graduated from CSU Chico in May 2005, I began my teaching credential program here at UC Davis. This past year has been a lot of hard work, but more rewarding than anything. Through guidance from awesome resident teachers, supervisors, and teacher educators, I have had truly wonderful experiences. Student-teaching, methods courses, and reflection has allowed me to discover the teacher I am. I want to teach my students many things, but above all that kindness and integrity are very important in life. I care about my students very much--I want to help them find their strengths, as well as improve in areas where they are challenged. Each child is so unique, and their needs are academic, social, and emotional. These are only a few reasons why I want to be a teacher, and there are so many more! I am very excited for my career in education...my journey of life-long learning is only beginning! |
