My name is Katie Thanh A Lu and I was born and raised in Sacramento, California. I made me first move when I went off to college at California State University of San Bernardino. I graduated in March of 2005 and decided to move back home to Sacramento to attend University of California, Davis for the Masters and Credential program for the 2006-2007 school year. I love what I do. I am currently a student teaching at Valley Oak Elementary school in Davis in a self-contained 3rd grade classroom. I have the best class of intellegent, enthusiastic and lovable students. My first placement was at an elementary school in West Sacramento, Bryte Elementary School. Once again, I must admit, that I had the best class of first graders. Their eagerness to learn over whelmed me and kept me on my feet. I've always wanted to teach elementary students. Ever since I was a kid I've dreamed of teaching children. I remembered that my first grade teacher influenced me to be a teacher. I always looked up to her and she was the one who made me discover the joy of reading. Now, I know I can do just that, a positive role model, for my students. Being able to see that light bulb go off when my students understand just puts a smile on my face. I enjoy every moment of my profession. I am determined to give my students the best education because I was given just that. I am truely living a dream that came true.
