| About Me |
My name is Courtney Schmitz and I am a multiple subject teaching candidate at UC Davis. I grew up in Auburn, CA with my two sisters and parents. In 1999, both my sister and I moved to San Luis Obispo to complete our undergraduate work. At Cal Poly, I obtained my bachelors degree in child development and minor in psychology. During this time, I completed several internships that involved working with elementary students. Over the past 9 months, I have had the amazing experience of working with several amazing colleagues and educators. During my student teaching placements, I have had full freedom to jump in and work with elementary school students. I have created several of my own lesson plans and implemented these in the classroom. I have also been able to complete a two-week take over that allowed me to have the full experience of working as an elementary school teacher. I believe that the training I have had both in my undergrad and graduate work has prepared me to be a dedicated and enthusiastic teacher! |
