My name is Jeanne Wright. I have been a
dancer all my life. My younger sister and brother, Laurie and John, are
my best friends. I love
the mountains and the ocean, especially La Jolla sunsets. My favorite animals are chimpanzees and
orangutans. In May 2004,
I had the honor of listening to Jane Goodall lecture at Birch Aquarium.
The highlight of the evening was meeting the humanitarian herself. If
you have not done so already, you should read the book Reason For Hope.
I
was born and
raised in Stockton,
California (think Asparagus Festival). After graduating from Bear
Creek High School, I
attended the University of California, San Diego where I received a
Bachelor of Arts degree in Human Development and a minor in
Psychology. I am now embarking on a new journey at the Univeristy
of California, Davis. I am completing coursework to qualify for a
multiple subject teaching credential. Presently, I am student teaching
in a third grade classroom at Silveyville Primary School. I have had
the honor of working with a talented and passionate teacher: Diane
Hensley. My ultimate goal is to
finish my studies at UCD in March 2007 with a Masters of Arts in
Education.
I have always enjoyed spending time with
children. Teaching ballet and swimming lessons provided me with the
opportunity to experience a different teaching environment than the
typical classroom. However, whether I am teaching in the dance
studio, the pool, or the classroom, I am constantly finding myself
caught up in the children's enthusiasm and imagination. Part of my
teaching philosophy is that a teacher's responsibility is to ensure
students' have the tools to translate their dreams and desires into
physical realities. I look forward to becoming a member of the
teaching profession and celebrating the potential each student brings
to my classroom.

To
dance is to feel all of life's passions in a moment, to become every
heartbeat, every laugh, and every tear. To open your soul to life and
then to share that with the world. Open their eyes and open their
hearts and for that fleeting moment let them feel you...
|
Consider
yourselves fortunate when all kinds of trials come your way,
for you know that when your faith succeeds in facing such trials, the
result is the ability to endure...
Do nothing from selfishness or empty conceit, but with humility of mind
let you regard one another as more important than himself...
