Summary:
Loving is an amazing book that provides examples of the different ways in which love can be expressed, with an emphasis on the relationship between parent and child.  There are photos from all over the world, however, most are from the United States.
Parents:
I can guarantee that your children will enjoy this book filled with people of many cultures showing their love for each other.  It serves as a great example to show children that there are many ways to demonstrate love.
Teachers:
The many multicultural photos that are in this book will provide the opportunity for discussion about the divinity not only in the classroom, but around the world.  The text in this book is very basic and geared toward first or second graders.  Nonetheless, it is great for all ages in that the text is also provocative.  Also, the book provides a world map along with information about where each photo was taken.  This can be used in conjunction with a geography lesson.
Personal Note:
When the cultures in your classroom are discussed, they are valued.  Valuing your student's identities is one of the many ways to create a great community of learners.  I can not stress the importance of making each and every one of your students feel as if they are important and that they belong in your classroom.
