~If you do what you always did you'll get what you always got.
I have been student teaching in rural Dixon in a first grade classroom. My resident teacher is fabulous and has taught me to repsect students more than anything. My student teaching experience has challenged me to use mandated curriculum to meet the needs of all learners .I have many wonderful experiences in this classroom ranging from making clouds, to writing about George Washington and drawing his portrait (viewed to the right), to learning children's games, to painting with my hands. I have been exposed to curriculum such as Houghton Mifflin, Rigby (Science Lesson Plan) , Bell Work, Kid Writing, and Accelerated Reader. I have loved every moment of my experience, and have learned that teaching is all about the child; there is no greater gift.
