We read Miss Rumphius which is about a woman who spreads Lupine seeds to make the world more beautiful. Then we finger painted lupines and the students wrote about one thing they would do to make the world more beautiful.

Addition and Subtraction facts name numbers. My students drew a self portrait and found all the ways to get to their age as they could think of using different math facts.

My students wrote cinquain poems about journeys, out unit theme, and then we accompanied them with pictures. Our pictures were drawn with pastel crayons and through the middle of the pictures we added a beautiful rainbow. Rainbows were made of tempra/bio paint and scrapers. Very fun!
