This is a great mental math game
for third grade as it addresses 2.1 and 2.2 of the third grade
mathematical standards; find the sum and difference of two whole
numbers between 0 and 10,000 and memorize to automaticity the
multiplication table for numbers between 1 and 10. DIRECTIONS 1. Pass out the 40 cards with the numbers and questions to all of the children. If you have 20 students in your classroom each child should receive 2. 2. Before they begin give children a moment to observe what is on their card. 3. Have one child begin by reading what is on their card. Encourage the child to stand up and speak clearly and in a powerfull voice for all to hear. 4. Make sure to tell children that they are to pay close attention to the child who is speaking as they may have the next card. 5. The student with the next card will then read what is on their card and so forth. This will continue until the last card loops around to the first card. EXAMPLE
