A Simple and Fun Way to Review Vocabulary

Matching terms with their definitions and examples:
1. Display only the terms that need to be reviewed (middle column). Call on volunteers to explain what they mean.
2. Add the column with definitions (left column). Ask the class to match the terms with their definitions. To involve the whole class ask: “Definition with what number matches the term “ratio”? Show me the number with your fingers in the air.” etc. Check, give the right answer and draw a line to match the cards. Do the same with all of the words.
3. Add the column with examples written in mathematical symbols that represent the terms (right column). Ask the class to match the terms with their examples, involve all students: “Which card represents “ratio”? Show me the number with your fingers in the air.” etc. Check, give the right answer and draw a line to match the cards.

*Clear the board, leaving only the middle column with the vocabulary. Ask the students to test each other in pairs.
