I grew up in sunny
Southern California
down in San Diego. I go home as often as I can to visit the beach, get
some of my mom's wonderful homecooking, and see my family whom I am
very close to. I am the youngest of four daughters and have three older
sisters and two incredible parents, who have all taught me a lot and
give me so much support. My family is very important to me, and they
are a big part of who I am.
My whole life I have always wanted to be a teacher. As a little girl I loved school and had so many wonderful experiences in the classroom, I just knew I had to be a part of that environment. I have always loved kids, and always thought I would be so lucky to be able to work with them every day. As much as I loved living in San Diego, I decided I wanted a change and a little adventure, so I came up to Northern California to go to college at UC Davis for my undergraduate degree. At UC Davis I earned my bachelor of Science degree as a Human Development major where I focused my studies mostly on Child Development. Throughout my four years of undergrad, I enjoyed learning all about the cognitive, social, and personality development of children and it solidified my desire to work with kids. I also minored in Education and completed several internships in elementary schools. I had a blast with these and knew that I just had to teach! I decided to stay at UC Davis to earn my Multiple Subject Teaching Credential and Masters of Art and Education, which I am currently completing. I have learned so much, and really enjoy what I do. I have a real passion for teaching and cannot wait to begin my career. Outside of teaching, I love reading, cooking, Salsa dancing, and traveling. I also enjoy visiting friends and family, and babysitting my three beautiful baby nieces. |
