All about Ms. Hoag...

I was born in Greenbrae, CA, and loved growing up in Marin County. We lived in Kentfield and San Rafael before finally settling in Ross, where I went to school until 8th grade. When I was 14 years old, my family moved in Incline Village, NV, in beautiful Lake Tahoe. I loved attending high school in such a small town, with a wonderfully close community. Lake Tahoe is one of my favorite places in the world!
I received my Bachelor of Arts from Willamette University in Salem, OR. I graduated with a major in Psychology and a minor in English. I enjoyed being involved in many organizations and activities on campus. One of the highlights of my wonderful college experience was a summer of study abroad in Paris, France. While I didn't speak the language, I was thrilled to learn about and experience the rich culture, history, and of course, the food! I have also traveled to Spain, Italy, Switzerland, and London. I adore Europe and am looking forward to my next trip overseas!
I am now in the process of completing my Multiple Subject Credential at the University of California, Davis. My primary placement for student teaching was in a 2/3 combination class at Valley Oak Elementary in Davis. I learned so much from my incredible students and resident teacher, and am excited to apply all that I have learned to my own classroom next near.
This summer I will return to Lake Tahoe to catch up on my reading and enjoy the beautiful outdoors! I also will be busily preparing for my first teaching position at an elementary school in Novato, CA. I am looking forward to returning to my roots in Marin County, and for the start of what I hope to be a very long and fulfilling teaching career.
