		I was born in Dallas, TX but moved to California in 1989. I have lived in California since then. I have a twin sister - which everyone thinks is totally cool - and a sister who is a sophomore at California Polytechnical, San Luis Obispo. I graduated from University of California, Davis with a Bachelor of Arts in History, with minor in Education on June 17, 2006. I stayed at UC Davis to pursue a Credential in the Teacher Credentialing / Master's Program at the School of Education. I have almost always known that I wanted to be a teacher. I started to gain over five years of experience working with children in an extended care program at Vacaville Christian Schools in my hometown of Vacaville, CA. My responsibilities there as an extended care teacher allowed me to enhance my skills that I could apply as a classroom teacher. I learned classroom management, the beginnings of lesson planning, time management for myself - and the students - , and I learned to work closely with co-workers and with the parents of my students. I have also interned under a resident teacher at Jean Callison Elementary School in a second grade classroom. This internship allowed me to observe and teach a few lessons - my first lessons in a classroom teacher role! - in the public school setting. I did my first student teaching placement at Sierra Vista Elementary School in a third grade classroom. I have a wonderfully, amazing resident who has been teaching for over 20 years and had the best group of third graders that I could have asked for. My second placement is at Padan Elementary in a first grade classroom. This group is wonderful as well. They are joy to work with and are sponges! Beyond teaching, I love to read, spend time with family and friends, and scrapbook the pictures that I take. I also like to travel. The best trip that I have been on so far was to Holland and Paris, France with my fiance's family who also has extended family that lives there.
