Looparound 1 Mathematics Standards:  Grade 3 2.0 Students calculate and solve problems involving addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division
Looparound 2 Mathematics Standards: Grade 3 3.0 Students understand the relationship between whole numbers, simple fractions, and decimals
Preparation: Print out a looparound game.  Cut each page into 4 individual squares.  Instructions: Each game consists of 20 cards.  Distribute all of the cards to the students (some students may have more than one card).  One student will begin by reading aloud his/her question (located at the bottom of the card).   All of the students will be solving the problem, but only one card will contain the answer.  The student with that card will then read aloud the answer (located at the top of the card) and then read the question at the bottom of his/her card.  This will be repeated several times until the cycle has been completed. Final note:  Each set is coded with a visual (abacus or contemplative students) to ensure that they are easily sorted if they get mixed up.
