| My
name is Joanne Ayar and I am a graduate student at UC Davis. I am
currently in the multiple subject credential program. My goal is to
become an elementary school teacher in the future. Before coming to UC
Davis I did my undergraduate work at Sacramento State University. I
graduated from Sacramento State with a Bachelors in Child Development. Before moving to Davis, I lived in Granite Bay, CA which is about thirty minutes from Sacramento. I lived with my mom, dad, and younger brother. I love my family and they have always been supportive of me. Both of my parents work at Intel Corporation and my brother is currently attending University of Pacific in Stockton, California. Currently I am student teaching at Freeport Elementary School in the Sacramento City Unified School District. I am placed in kindergarten classroom with my resident teacher, Mrs. Watson. I love working with kindergarteners and I have learned a lot so far from this experience. I have volunteered at several elementary schools but I have never worked in a kindergarten classroom. I have learned that there are certain characteristics that you must possess in order to work with this age group. You have to be patient, kind, and enthusiastic. These qualities, among others, are what makes a good teacher. |
