Loop Around Directions:

Each child is given a card, they state the number which is at the top and then ask the question below.  The student  with the correct number states their number and then asks their question as well.  The answer to the question on the last card will be the first card of the game.   If the one of the students cannot solve a problem, have the class find the answer together.  This game serves as a fun way to practice mental math with expanded forms and inverse relationships.

Standards:
Both sets of Loop Around are designed for second grade, each one addresses a different content standard.

2.1
Understand and use the inverse relationship between addition and subtraction (e.g., an opposite number sentence for 8 + 6 =14 is 14 - 6 =8) to solve problems and check solutions.
