catgirl Educational Websites

http://www.pbskids.org

A great website for kids!  It has games, coloring, and music for children.  The games are both educational and fun.  When the curser is over a clickable picture, it says what the picture is.  It also has options for students to read by themselves or have assistance.   The website also has a link for teachers and parents to provide more resources and ideas to improve learning.

http://www.kidsites.com/

This site has both educational and fun sites for children.  The fun sites are still educational, but not as much so as the ones labeled educational.  There is also a link for parents and teachers for curriculum ideas and how to raise children.

http://www.exploratorium.edu/

This is a science website that provides children and adults with information about science.  The Exploratorium is a science museum in San Francisco where the guests can explore different elements of science.  This website is a great way for teachers to get ideas if they cannot visit the museum.

http://kids.discovery.com/

This is a great site too!  This site has games, shows, and television schedule for the times Discovery programs are on.  It has great games for students to play that are both fun and educational.  It also reminds children to not share any personal information online, which is an important reminder.

http://www.funbrain.com/

This is a website that I have actually used before.  Children love to play the games on this website.  They are educational and give children a choice to try different levels of knowledge, which helps target multiple age groups.
