| About Miss Dummitt |
|
| My name is Christy
Dummitt, and I grew up in Orange County, CA. I attended a private
school from kindergarten through 5th grade and then transferred to the
Orange Unified School District. I attended La Veta Elementary in
6th grade, Santiago Middle School in 7th and 8th grades, and El Modena
High School in 9th-12th grades. In high school, I was on the
varsity volleyball and basketball teams (I also ran track for 1 year),
I was Freshman Class President and my senior year was the Associated
Student Body Commissioner of Communications, and I was involved in
community service through Girl's League. I received my B.A. in Sociology from the University of California, Santa Barbara in 2004, and am currently working on my Multiple Subject Credential and M.A. in Education at the University of California, Davis. Before deciding to become a teacher, I worked in Global Marketing Communications for an industry-leading advanced technology corporation. After volunteering in friends' classrooms, I discovered my true passion was in helping kids learn and reach their full potential. In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my family, working out, and traveling. I love to play basketball and have been playing since I was 7 years old. In 2002, I lived in London for 5 months and since then have had a fascination with Europe. I cruised the Mediterranean with my family in 2006, and plan to go back to Italy to explore its northern regions in the near future. Along with Italy, next on my list of places that I would love to see are Germany, Greece, the Caribbean, Canada, and Central America. |
