What can I say about my teaching
philosophy? The one thing I am certain about is that it is not set in stone. I am sure it will continue to evolve as my teaching career goes along. Another certainty is that once I stop caring about the students, my teaching career has come to an end. I strongly believe that once a teacher has lost the passion for the profession, the next best thing to do is change careers. As a teacher, one must be 100% dedicated to the students well being since we will play an important role in the students' development. Not only by being passionate or dedicated will a student learn, teachers must also have patience to allow the student to learn at their own pace since not all the same. Teachers must take into consideration the vast differences amongst students and their needs. By noticing their differences, teachers should be able to meet students' needs. If a teachers philosophy is set in stone and changes for no student, the teacher might even be hindering the learning process. In addition, a teachers main purpose is to care for the well being of the students. This means they not have to worry about what is going on at school, but also what their living situation since many aspects of a student's life plays an important role in the way they learn. Being aware of the students' family situatuions will sertainly help teachers serve the student. |
