About Me

me  Hello and welcome to my web page!

I was born and raised in San Jose, California.  Most of my family resides there, and they are the loving people who have truly shaped who I am.  I am my grandparents' warm hearts, my mom's resilience, my brother's sense of humor, and my aunts' and uncles' generosity.  Even as a child, I dreamed of becoming a teacher.  My play dates would often consist of playing teacher and students, and in my own time, I would "teach" my stuffed animals mathematics.  Also, my mom had been a Sunday School teacher at church, and I loved spending time in her classroom with the younger children.
In 2003, I graduated from Lynbrook High School.  There, I was involved in the concert band and marching band for four years, and the experiences have strengthened my sense of discipline, leadership, and teamwork.  I love Silicon Valley for its diverse culture and its educational and leisure offerings, and I hope to raise my own family there in the future.

I received my Bachelor of Arts degree at UC Davis, where I graduated with a major in Communications and a minor in Education.  After taking a few education courses, working with children in various programs, and interning in classrooms, my passion to teach became clear.  Working with children has always been rewarding to me - they hold so much potential and light up my life.

I am currently in the process of obtaining my Multiple Subject Credential at the School of Education at UC Davis.  My primary placement for student teaching is in a 3rd grade classroom at Gretchen Higgins Elementary School in Dixon.  I've learned and am still learning so much from my amazing resident teacher and by working with each of the children.  I am excited to have my own classroom with a wonderful bunch of students in the near future!

Beyond teaching, I love to spend time with my family and friends, shop, cook and bake, eat, read, watch movies, bowl, and travel.  I hope to travel much more in the future.  I am still waiting for a chance to visit Europe!
