I was born in San Jose, California on February 21, 1985. However, I soon moved to Oakland, California where I lived for the next 18 years. I am the oldest of five children in my family. I have four younger brothers who I am close to and visit frequently.
I graduated from Oakland Senior high school in June of 2003. During high school I was invloved in several programs including the Environmental Science Academy, Track and Field, and Cross Country. I started college in September of 2003 at the University of California, Davis. During my undergraduate years at UC Davis I was given several internship opportuinites. My first internship took place during winter quarter of my freshman year; I was a Project Seed intern, which allowed me to teach second grade students about the environemnt. When I was in my third year of college, I interned at the Human Development Laterality Lab where I conducted cognitive and memory tests for brain laterality studies. Also during my third year, I was a student caregiver at the Center for Child and Family Studies where I interacted with pre-school aged students and faciliated small group activities. Finally, my last and most rewarding internship during my undergraduate years at UC Davis was an internship in a third grade classroom all year long at Robert E. Willett Elementary School in Davis, CA. I worked with groups of five students in small group activities, led a variety of whole class art activities and whole class lessons from the FOSS science curriculum. I graduated from UC Davis on June 16, 2003 with a Double Major in Human Development B.S. and Psychology B.A, and a minor in Education. I am currently a student teacher in a third grade classroom at Glenwood Elementry School (Robla School District, Sacramento, CA). Back to Home Page |
