My
name is Mandy
Taylor-Gratzer. I received my Bachelors of Arts in 2006 from the
University of California, Santa Barbara. I majored in Sociology
with a minor in Women's Studies. I am currently attending
University of California, Davis pursuing a Multiple Subject Teaching
Credential with an ELL emphasis and my Master's in Education. I
am student teaching in
Mrs. LaBass' 1st grade classroom at Anderson Elementary School in
Dixon, CA. My favorite part of the program at UC Davis is working
with the kids in the classroom. I feel that I am learning the
most when participating in hands-on experience. I can't wait to
have my own classroom
next year and be able to teach children and watch them get excited by
learning. To me, teaching is the most fulfilling and rewarding
career a person can have. I love food. I love to cook and eat. My favorite part of the process is being with people I love and making something special for them. It is so rewarding to see other people enjoy what I have created. However, I also love to eat and enjoy trying new cuisine and laughing with friends over a great meal. My other passion is travelling. I think that the best education that a person can receive is through "doing". By experiencing other cultures, I not only learn about the history, architecture, natural resources, religions, and people of the places I travel to, but I also learn about myself. Of course, my absolute favorite part of travelling is experiencing the different cuisines throughout the world. I love to come home and cook what I have learned for my family and friends. I hope to incorporate my passion for different cultures in my classroom. |
