A little bit about me...

Education:

2004 UC Davis: B.A. Political Science and a minor in European History

2004 Sacramento State: Certificate in Crime and Intelligence Analysis

2005 Shasta College: AA Administration of Justice

2006-2008 UC Davis: Social Science Teaching Credential + MA in Education

Greetings everyone!

It's I, your humble student teacher!

My name is Courtney Caruso, and I'm from Redding, CA
(about two hours north of Sacramento). I graduated from Shasta High School in 2000 and then headed for college life at UC Davis. After graduation in 2004, I returned home to pursue a career in crime and intelligence analysis. I volunteered at the local Sheriff's Department, while taking classes at the local junior college. I soon realized that although the field was interesting and fast paced, it wasn't quite what I wanted to do. I moved back to the Sacramento area and worked for a year as a Paraeducator in a Special Education classroom. It was then that I realized I wanted to teach. I applied to the UC Davis program and the rest is history. And that's where my oh-so-short autobiography ends. Recently, I completed a short take over of a Social Studies class at Holmes Jr. High School and am now teaching at Winters High School. I enjoy sharing my love of history with my students. It's my goal for them to walk away with a new appreciation or interest in the history of our country.

That little said, if you ever have questions or concerns... please don't hesitate to ask me.

This year is going to be a great one!

Courtney :)

P.S. Below I've included a few photos of the places I've been. What can I say? I'm a history fan! :)
