mission statement:
I believe that each
child
has
the potential to maximize their learning capabilities, if properly
nurtured and motivated. As a teacher, I take a muti-pedagogical
approach to teaching,
incorporating slides, lectures, music and video into my lesson plans to
better help students achieve. I believe that the
students who are struggling the most not only need more attention than
others, but also benefit from challenging work; I
would never purposefully "dumb down"my lesson in order to better reach
these students. In my
classroom every student is responsible for his or her own actions, but
also, with my help, can achieve his or her maximum potential in the
classroom.
I am teaching a 10th-gradeWorld History class at
Davis
Senior High.
Students are exposed to important events in American History from the
Civil War to the end of World War I.
Assessment includes semi-daily quizzes, important but less frequent
exams, and creative individual and group
projects. The bulk of everyday assessment is seen through classroom
participation through
student/teacher discussion. |
