Week 7 - Jan. 23
Goal for the day: begin the creation of a non-linear PowerPoint. How you use it i sup to you. One condition on the PowerPoint is you must use two forms of media other than PowerPoint itself. Some possible media would be: digital images, digital movies, sound clips, music from a CD, etc.
Skills you will need -
Assignment due as you walk out the door. - None. You need to arrange to store your PowerPoint in the class folder AFTER you teach the lesson. You are expected to teach for approximately 1 hour using this Power Point to control media OR lead discussion OR you name it. Once you have taught the lesson write a reflective paper on how the class went. Include in the paper your student's reactions as best you can. One big question will be was the time worth it:). The PowerPoint must be used before the end of the course. You will "show" your PowerPoint and discuss yoru reflections during the last class. The assignment is pretty open-ended. |
There are two BIG tricks. A) Be sure all media is in a common folder when the PowerPoint is created. B) Tie all media to the default player on the computer you will be using if you are going to use "insert" or to a player on the machine if you are using action buttons. And a little trick, if you are going to use the Dell's for your PowerPoint make the sound WAV format.
